Dave Cawthorn's love of music goes back to his earliest childhood memories. As a youngster Dave taught himself to play a wide variety of instruments, a passion he continues to this day. From blues harp to guitar, mandolin and the button accordion, Dave also enjoys some of the classic traditional country implements such as spoons or even gumleaves. For a number of years Dave worked in various major music stores, in the process getting to know many talented Australian entertainers. He has also performed extensively himself, happily busking or touring as a singer and master of ceremonies of a popular cabaret style act on the Australian mainland.
Dave currently is living in Queensland, Australia, where he continues to enjoy the outback lifestyle that is evident in his songwriting and performances. Though Dave is new to recording, he is certainly no stranger to the country music scene.
Dave's debut recording "When Will It Rain" is a song co-written with his great mate Terry Martin. The song and accompanying video was released to raise awareness to the plight of country Australians battling one of the harshest droughts in recent memory. Proceeds from the single's sales go towards drought relief assistance.
