FireSkye began in late 2007 as a fun way for three Tasmanian country girls to not only get-together to write and play music, but to enjoyably experiment with the "tougher" side of both the country and general music genres - aka rock, and rock with attitude at that!
Comprising Ruby Rose (lead vocals/guitar), Beth "The Junkyard Dog" Davies (drums/guitar/vocals) and Tessa Dee (keyboards), the band also happily worked with various backing musicians in their bid to create a unique sound. Camille Eon joined the band in 2009, alternating with Tessa on keyboards/vocals. Always at the heart of their music and performance is a raw energy driven by a passion for music of all genres.
The girls don't seek to be overly forced into any particular sub-genre, as their more recent moving country pop ballad "Learning To Let Go" demonstrates.

Though proud of their achievements, at heart FireSkye is three/four genuine country girls with a love of country life, a life they lead on a daily basis. Ruby Rose, Beth, Tessa (and Camille) are not afraid to either be feminine or get their hands dirty depending what's required of them. More like sisters than just friends, their closeness has lead to an ongoing growth in their respective music skills. Though still in their teens, the younger members have stepped up, writing their own music and openly sharing their beliefs and feelings via their songs.
FireSkye is definitely a "work in progress" according to the girls, who happily admit they still have a lot to learn about music, the industry and all it entails. Now with six music video's to their credit, the girls certainly aren't shy in ensuring that any audience is soon drawn into the energetic and inspiring atmosphere their music generates.
Though considered a "crossover" band in that FireSkye enjoys not only various expressions of country but also the world of rock, each member is proud to identify with their country heritage and looks forward to even more ventures into the wide range of music the country genre offers.
FireSkye is definitely a band to watch out for and to never pigeon hole.

This limited edition 5 track EP was released in time for Christmas 2007 and was the debut album for FireSkye. The music and music videos released at that time drew attention from around the globe, with the girls being included in a US book on successful all-girl bands. They were also asked to write and record a song for an Austrlian based football team, quite an honour in a country that is football mad!

With the unexpected sudden interest from around the globe, the girls of FireSkye were quickly asked to produce a series of music videos for many of the songs off their debut EP "Lightning Unleashed". On top of the public broadcast of their atmospheric and powerful performance driven music videos, four of these filmclips were used to create a DVD. FireSkye is definitely a very visual and energetic band, with the filmclips being received with much positive acclaim.
