The Official CMB
Country Music Video Awards

The CMB Country Music Video Awards consist of award ribbon winners selected by individual judging throughout the year. This culminates in the Annual CMB Video Awards ceremony from which the overall winners are chosen by a panel representing the Country Music industry and community. Videos are individually viewed and selected from across the internet. Artists are able to request that their video be considered by simply contacting CMB directly.

The Awards aim to recognise the power of the internet in today's music climate, hence videos are judged by this criteria and not about their ability otherwise to be screened via other visual mediums. A home-made music video is as likely a winner as any produced by a major film-house. Award Ribbon winners during the course of the year may be featured on CMB Radio and offered other media interviews and exposure. The awards are genuine and a serious undertaking by CMB. CMB congratulates all winners and participants.

Throughout the history of music, and often from a variety of genres, there comes singer/songwriters whose life and compassion for others has helped change this world for the better. From John Lennon in the early 70's (Imagine) to Tracy Chapman (Behind The Wall etc.) in the late 80's and country artists such as Reba McEntire, Steve Earle, Martina McBride amongst others. Sue Pyper falls into this category, and "Chasing Tail Lights In The Rain" is yet another example of her very real and genuine concern for others. This special video - which also features live footage of Sue and friends - is well constructed and helps the viewer to not only appreciate the song better but to also come away feeling the sincerity that this respected singer/songwriter offers us all. My Jeans
    Celeste Kellog
    Awarded: February 2010
Artists Description: Hey Guys,I wanted to thank you for visiting my video "My Jeans". People often asked me why did you write a song about Jeans? It's meant to be a fun girls song that everyone can have fun to and nothing more. I hope you enjoy watching the video as much as we enjoyed making it.

    Judging Summary:
If "My Jeans" is an example of what this 16 year old can so delightfully offer country fans now, then without doubt Celeste Kellog will certainly be one of America's great country success stories of the near future. Despite Celeste's humble description of this original modern country song, "My Jeans" would be considered by many listeners to already be up there with the likes of Taylor Swift and other popular young country singers of today. The video is bright and engaging and has been extremely well produced. Along with a cast of many other young people, Celeste acts and performs with a confidence and professionalism beyond her tender years. "My Jeans" is both an excellent song and an infectiously happy video clip. Celeste and her friends most definitely deserve these two CMB Video Awards. Congratulations - CMB Judging Panel.

An Old Friend Of Mine - Joe Nichols (Interview)
    Joe Nichols (Aristo Media)
    Awarded: December 2009
Artists Description: "With excerpts from his new song "An Old Friend Of Mine" and hits such as "Tequlia Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", this official video includes Joe speaking openly about his life, his past and his hopes for the future. Released inconjunction with Aristo Media and CMB. See also the official website anoldfriendofmine.com "

    Judging Summary:
It takes courage for anyone, let alone a popular performer, to acknowledge they have a substance addiction. Taking that next step and doing something about it is not easy, and it can alienate that person from those they previously thought were "friends" or "fans". The compelling story that Joe Nichols shares, and the resulting powerful song will hopefully encourage others to realise they are not alone. Congratulations - CMB Judging Panel

His voice is strong and clear, and in a more traditional country manner this video achieves its aim of emotively reaching the viewer. Well located, with a variety of Australian country settings, the viewer is shown first-hand the effect of drought whilst also shared is a sense of hope for the future and of country determination.
